Boys Golf Returns Favor At Marlington with Tie-Breaker Win
Louisville 168, Marlington 168
The Louisville Leopards Boys Golf team squeaked by the host Marlington Dukes on a fifth man tie-breaker Tuesday at Tannenhauf Golf Club. The Dukes and Leopards played to a 168-168 tie, but Louisville had a lower fifth card score to break the tie. With the victory, Louisville finishes the regular season 13-2 overall and second place in the NBC standings with a 12-2 league record.
Matt Eddins led the Leopards by stroking a team low 38. Dan Duplain tallied a 41 and Nick Fawver carded a 44. The final three golfers all contributed to the tie-breaking scenarios as Mac Hanson, Cameron Prasco, and Heath Williams all shot a 45.
The two squads tied 163-163 at Skyland Pines back on August 27. Marlington won that tie-breaker scenario by a single stroke. Due to Louisville’s season finale victory they finish just a game behind Carrollton in the final NBC Regular Season Standings. This gives them an opportunity to play for a championship at the NBC Tournament Thursday at the Alliance Country Club.
UP NEXT: The Leopards will next compete at the NBC Tournament on Thursday, September 18. Tee-Time is slated for 9:00 AM at the Alliance Country Club.
