7th Grade Boys Basketball Survives Semis, Rolls in Championship
Louisville 53, Minerva 31
The Louisville Leopards 7th Grade Boys Basketball team downed the Minerva Lions 53-31 in the NBC Championship Wednesday at Salem’s Southeast Elementary School.
The Leopards were led by Drew Doerschuk with 14, Louis Johnson with 13, Derek Zeller with 11, and Jack Davis with 8.
The Lions were led by Connor Wright with 9, Shane Walters with 7, and Brock Croston with 6. Minerva finished 13-3 overall on the season.
Louisville’s biggest test came in the tournament semifinals when they squeaked by Alliance 31-30 on a buzzer beater made by Christian Grimm. Zeller score a game-high 21 points in that contest as well.
The Leps finished the season 16-1 overall
