Hoover Vikings at Louisville Leopards 1999 Football Highlights
North Canton Hoover 35, Louisville 7
The Leopards opened the scoring with a Jon Herbert 44 Yard Touchdown pass to Matt Miller in the second quarter, but it was all Vikings after that. North Canton went on to defeat host Louisville 35-7 in the season opener on August 27, 1999.
The Leopards out-gained the Vikings 301-220 in total yards of offense and had more first downs than Hoover 13-12, but 7 Louisville turnovers turned this rivalry into a one-sided affair.
The Leopards had an opportunity to take control of the contest when they drove to the Vikings 3 Yard Line just before halftime. A penalty pushed Louisville back to the 8 before North Canton drew a penalty in the endzone with 0:02 left on the clock. The ensuing field goal was blocked leaving the score tied 7-7 and the Vikings would go on to outscore the Leopards 28-0 in the second half.
