Winter Sports Banquet Highlights and Pictures

Marvel Dunbar Louisville Leopards

The Winter Sports Season officially came to a close Monday night at Louisville High School with the Winter Sports Award and Recognition Night.  Each coach gave speeches and recognized his or her players for major rewards.

The highlights of the night included both Brianna Libertore (Girls Basketball) and Lucas Poyser (Wrestling) earning Player of the Year Awards in the NBC.  The girls swim team was also recognized for their undefeated season, the cheerleading squad for their efforts at several meets throughout the year, and the girls basketball team presented Principal Steve Milano with their 2011-12 NBC Championship trophy.  The boys baketball and swim teams also had individuals receive recognition as well.

Athletic Director Rich Venuto also present 102-year-old Marvel Dunbar with a plaque, blanket, and a jacket for her son Jerry.  Jerry and Marvel tirelessly attend Louisville athletic efforts and are both great examples to look up to.

After the main session, each team broke off into their own room on a more personal level.  There players and coaches were presented with other rewards, honors, and gifts were given out.

Also, if anyone is still interested in a Boys or Girls Basketball DVD please contact me at louisvilleleopards.org@gmail.com, I still have a few DVD’s of the girls left and can always make more of either.
