The Louisville Leopards boys baseball team has started the season 1-4.  However, it is still early in the season and there are 22 games remaining.

The Leopards first game was against the Alliance Aviators.  The Leopards fell behind 4-1 after Alliance scored three runs in the last of the seventh inning.  A Marc Adams single drove in a run, while an Aviator error allowed another run to come home.  Then, Cory Hupp hit a grounder to second that ended up scoring the tying run.  However, Alliance took the lead in the eight on a sacrifice fly and the Leopards failed to score in the bottom of the inning.  Alliance won the extra inning battle 5-4.  The Leopards only other run came when Arien Seeman scored on a Neal Seaman sacrifice fly.  Seeman was actually a pinch runner for Hupp, who singled in his at bat.  Seeman then proceeded to steal second and advanced to third on an error before scoring.

Alliance continued to show not mercy on their own diamond.  The Leps took a 2-0 lead in the top of the third inning, but the Aviators returned the favor in the bottom of the inning with three runs of their own.  A two-run fourth inning and a five-run fifth inning sealed the deal for the Aviators.  The Leps only runs were driven in by Andrew Adams and Cory Hoover.  Louisville lost the game 10-2.

The Leopards then split their first double header of the season against Notre Dame Cathedral Latin.  Louisville won the first game 7-6 as Cory Hoover led the offense with two hits, one RBI, and a run.  Brandon Mathie was the winning pitcher for the Leopards as well.  However, the Leps got drilled in the second game 11-1.  Notre Dame erupted for 10 runs in the fourth and fifth innings to mercy the Leopards.

Finally, the Leopards lost a pitching dual at Northwest.  The Leopards pitching shutout the Indians for the first six innings, but unfortunately the Indians shutout the Leps for all seven innings.

The Leopards impressive 7-6 win over Notre Dame Cathedral Latin may prove to be signs of things to come for the Leps.  The Leopards will look for an amazing turnaround in the remaining games.
