Wrestling Falls to Minerva, Match Decided in Final Bout

Minerva 40, Louisville 34

The Louisville Leopards Varsity Wrestling team fell to the visiting Minerva Lions Thursday Evening at LHS. With the loss, Louisville falls to 8-3 overall and 1-3 in NBC competition.

Jager Kendrick (145), Brock Mehl (152), Nick Nappi (285), and Marshall Vick (120) all pinned their opposition for the Leopards. Alex Lycan (170) also earned a major decision and Paul Lycan (106) won courtesy of forfeit for Louisville.

The Leopards pulled ahead 34-28 with two matches remaining after Vick’s win by fall. However, the Lions Sammy Southers (126) won by pin to tie the match at 34-34 and Ben Zbasnik (132) also won by fall in 4:27 to claim the match for Minerva at 40-34.

UP NEXT: The Leopards will next compete at the Olentangy Tournament on Saturday, January 10 beginning at 9:00 AM.
