Louisville Leopards at Minerva Lions Wrestling 2015 Recap

Louisville 38, Minerva 22

The Louisville Leopards Varsity Wrestling Team defeated the host Minerva Lions 38-22 Thursday Night at MHS. With the win, Louisville is now 7-1 overall and 1-1 in the NBC.

Four Leopards won by pin during the match. They included Logan Skolosh (145), Jager Kendrick (160), Jimmy Leonard (182), and Frankie Falcone (195).

Louisville won 8 of the 14 match-ups against Minerva. Also earning Major Decisions for the Leopards were Jackson Simpson (106) 13-2 and Brock Mehl (152) 15-4. Others earning decisions for Louisville included Andy Graham (113) 4-2 and Satchel Strickmaker (170) 9-3.

The victory is the Leopards first over the Lions since a 41-24 win over Minerva on February 5, 2011. The Lions had won the previous four matches in the series before Thursday.

UP NEXT: The Leopards will next compete at the 55th Annual North Canton Holiday Tournament beginning Friday, December 18 at 5:00 PM.
