Louisville Leopards at Walsh Jesuit Warriors Girls Basketball 2014 Tournament Video Highlights
Walsh Jesuit 61, Louisville 36
Walsh Jesuit scored the first 10 points of the contest and never trailed during a 61-36 victory over visiting Louisville in the DI Alliance Girls Basketball Sectional Semifinals Saturday. With the loss, Louisville finishes the season 7-16.
The Lady Leopards were led by Hollyann Mullett who scored a team-high 10, Rachel Zeller who dropped in 8, and Brooke Layton who added 7.
After trailing 10-0 to start the game, Louisville rallied back to get within 20-13 at the end of one. The Warriors would then outscore Louisville 41-13 over the next two periods to take a 61-26 lead into the final quarter.
Positively, the Lady Leopards set an OHSAA Tournament record in the final quarter as they held the Warriors to no points in the final eight minutes. However, the outcome was not in jeopardy as Walsh won the contest 61-36.
The Lady Warriors were led by Lillian Piper who scored a game-high 21 points, Chelsea Pla who poured in 16, and Anna Hall who added 12. Walsh is now 17-5 on the season and will host the 11th Seeded Jackson Polar Bears in the Sectional Finals Thursday.
