Volleyball’s Perfect Run Ends at Jackson Invitational

The Louisville Lady Leopards Varsity Volleyball Team finished 4th at the Jackson Invitational Saturday. Beatty's Property of Louisville Leopards Shirt 2015Louisville defeated Chippewa in the opening round, but lost two hard fought matches against Solon and Highland after that. The Lady Leopards are now 12-2 on the season.

Louisville won their first match of the tournament against the Chipps 25-22, 25-14. Leaders for the Leopards included Paige Haren with 27 assists, Emily Hollifield with 7 kills & 2 blocks, and Grace Jackson with 8 digs, 7 points serving, and 1 ace.

Louisville lost their first match of the year in heartbreaking fashion 21-25, 27-25, 24-26 to the Comets. Hollifield led the Leopards with 9 kills and 2 blocks. Brynn Guist also finished with 9 kills, Haren recorded 31 assists, and Jackson finished with 22 digs.

Louisville again lost a nail-biter in the 3rd-4th place match against the Hornets 23-25, 25-19, 24-26. Guist & Hollifield each registered 10 kills to lead the Leopards. Hollifield also finished with 2 blocks, Haren had 35 assists, and Jackson recorded 17 digs.

The 12-0 start was Louisville’s best since they began the season 15-0 in 2000. These are the only two Lady Leopards Varsity Volleyball teams that have started a season with 12 straight victories in LHS history.
