Volleyball Downs Tournament Host Lake for Sectional Title

Louisville 23-25-25-25, Lake 25-19-21-7

The 2nd Seed Louisville Leopards defeated the 5th Seed Lake Blue Streaks 23-25, 25-19, 25-21, 25-7 http://www.facebook.com/JenniferLBolyard/in the DI Uniontown Sectional Finals Thursday Evening at Lake High School. With the victory, Louisville improves to 21-2 on the year and advances to the District Semifinals to take on the 3rd Seed North Canton Hoover Vikings next Wednesday.

The Lady Leopards got contributions throughout their lineup. Sarah Lairson had a team-high 25 digs on defense and Erin Hahn finished with a team-leading 3 blocks.

On offense, Kayla Cole was the team’s top hitter with 17 kills and Paige Haren setup the offense with a team-high 48 assists. Georgia Kiko and Emma Vacha led Louisville in serving with 4 aces a piece.

With the victory, the Leopards have now defeated the Blue Streaks in 7 straight meetings, which Beatty's Grey Long Sleeveincludes their last 6 match-ups at Lake. Louisville won all three of their matches at Lake this season.

The Lady Leopards have now won a Sectional Championship in each of their past 4 seasons. Louisville is now 10-9 in tournament play since entering Division I and 7-5 in those postseason games played at Lake.

UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next take on the #3 Seed North Canton Hoover Vikings in the DI Uniontown District Semifinals on Wednesday, October 26 at 7:30 PM at Lake High School.
