Louisville 34, Alliance 0
The Louisville Leopards Varsity Football Team shutout the Alliance Aviators 34-0 Friday Night at Louisville Leopards Stadium. With the win, Louisville improves to an even 2-2 overall and is now 1-0 in the NBC.
Quarterback Brody Hahn finished 9 of 17 passing for 133 yards & 3 touchdowns and also was the Leopards leading rusher with 11 carries for 82 yards. Hahn connected with Wide Receiver Tyler Adams 6 times for 97 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Runningback Gavin VanZant also had 10 carries for 72 yards and 2 touchdowns. He broke free up the middle for a 50 yard score on just the third play of the second quarter. VanZant also scored the only touchdown of the second half from 2 yards away that invoked the mercy rule at the 7:49 mark of the third quarter.
On defense, the Leopards forced 4 turnovers. Corey White finished with a pair of interceptions, Cam Lingle had a pick, and Maverick Pugh also recovered a fumble for Louisville.
White’s first interception came on Alliance’s opening drive. White stepped in front of a pass at the Aviators 33 and returned it 24 yards to setup the Leopards 1st-and-Goal from the 9. Two plays later, Hahn connected with Adams from 8 yards out to make it 6-0.
Later on in the second quarter, Pugh recovered an Aviator fumble on the Alliance 15. That setup another two play Louisville scoring drive that ended with Adams catching a 20 yard touchdown pass from Hahn. That made it 20-0.
After another defensive stop, the Leopards got the ball back with under two minutes to go before halftime. They needed just 6 plays to travel 51 yards in 1:20 to pull ahead 27-0. The drive ended with Max Hartline catching a 6 yard touchdown pass from Hahn with 37 seconds left before the halftime. Hartline would finished with 2 catches for 31 yards on the evening.
