Track Teams Take 1st at NBC Meet & Win League Outright

Louisville Leopards Track NBC Champions 2014 Boys & Girls

The Louisville Leopards Boys & Girls Track teams both took first place at the NBC Track Meet at Salem Friday. With their top finishes, both teams also won the conference outright for the first time in school history.

Boys – 152 (1st Out of 8)

The Louisville Boys ran away with the team title by scoring 152 points on the evening. West Branch tBeatty's Sports Spring 2014 Baseball Shirt 2ook a distant second place with 107.5 and Marlington placed third by scoring 106. With the first place finish, the Leopards Boys Track Team won their first Outright NBC Title. This is just their third league title in school history (1973 – Federal League, 2011 – Shared NBC).

Louisville showed off their speed at nearly all distances individually. Andy Minster won the 100 Meter Dash (11.35), Nick Chaplik won the 800 Meter Run (1:58.89), Ben Tornow won the 1600 Meter Run (4:32.36), and Noah Chaplik won the 3200 Meter Run (10:12.70). Mitch Cavalier also placed first in the Long Jump (21-03.25).

Girls – 107.5 (1st Out of 8)

The Lady Leopards scored 107.5 points and edged second place Carrollton who scored 106.5 to take the team crown. The Louisville Leopards Girls Track team has now won the NBC 6 out of the last 7 seasons and has won the league outright in 5 of those years.

Individual first place finishes included Brynn Guist in the 100 Meter Hurdles (16.21) and Devin Kring in the 300 Meter Hurdles (47.11).  Lizzy Mont, Hailey Miller, Kring, and Adrianna Beaver also teamed up to win the 4×200 Meter Relay (1:48.37) for Louisville

UP NEXT: The Leopards will next compete in the DI North Canton District Meet at Memorial Stadium on May 21 and May 23.
