Track: Boys Hand Salem 1st Loss, Girls Dominate on Senior Night

The Louisville Leopards Track Teams swept the visiting Salem Quakers Monday Evening at LHS on Senior Night.

Boys: Louisville 79, Salem 49

The Leopards Boys Team handed the Quakers their first loss of the season with a 79-49 win. With the victory, Louisville improves to 3-2-1 on the season.

Louisville took first in 9 of 16 events. The Chaplik brothers led the Leopards by winning two individual events a piece. Nick Chaplik won the 400 Meter Dash & 800 Meter Run and Noah Chaplik won the 1600 Meter Run & 3200 Meter Run.

Other individual winners for Louisville included Ben Tornow in the 300 Hurdles and Rahzul Young in the Shotput.

The Leopards also placed first in 3 of the 4 relay events. The team of Nick Chaplik, Noah Chaplik, Noah Murray, and Zach Fresenko got together twice to win both the 4×800 Meter Relay and the 4×400 Meter Relay races. The 4×200 Meter Relay team of Korey Bowen, Logan Skolosh, Michael Seaman, and Cole Weston were also victorious.

Girls: Louisville 120, Salem 8

The Louisville Girls Team demolished visiting Salem 120-8. With the win, the Lady Leopards improve to 4-2 on the year.

Louisville placed first in 15 of 16 events. The versatile Hailey Kiko won the 100/110 Hurdles race & the Long Jump Beatty's Louisville Leopards Track & Field T-Shirt 2016and Mogan Cole took first in the 800 Meter Run and 1600 Meter Run to lead the Lady Leopards individually.

Other individual first place runners for Louisville included Adriana Beaver in the 100 Meter Dash, Aniyah Williams in the 200 Meter Dash, Georgia Kiko in the 400 Meter Dash, Iris Menegay in the 3200 Meter Dash, and Heather Guiley in the 300 Meter Hurdles. Kayla Cole also won the Shotput to round out field event winners for the Leopards.

Louisville also won all four relay races. The following Leopards made up the winning combinations

  • 4×800 Relay – Iris Menegay, Beaver, Heather Stertzbach, Kiko
  • 4×400 Relay – Heather Guiley, Leanna Barnes, Caroline Ehlers, Morgan Cole
  • 4×200 Relay – Adriana Beaver, Hailey Miller, Alexis Shearer, Devin Kring
  • 4×100 Relay – Heather Guiley, Alexis Shearer, Adriana Beaver, Ashlee Beaver

The only Quakers score came when Leah Menegos won the Discus.

Senior Night

Prior to the meet, Louisville honored their 12 Senior Track Athletes. The 6 Boys Seniors included: Terry Gooch, Nick Harsh, Christian Hendricks, Logan Skolosh, Ben Tornow, and Rahzul Young, The 6 Girls Seniors included Adriana Beaver, Cassidy Gentry, Emily Hollifield, Isabel Kiko, Devin Kring, and Darrean Starney.
