The Legend of the Burk Nest Unveiled
Tyler Burk Chalk Throw
The highest point in the Louisville Gymnasium is…The Burk Nest!
In front of the fantastic 1-year-old media area above the north bleachers hangs a banner that reads ” The Burk Nest.” But what is The Burk Nest? And why is it called the Burk Nest?
The Burk Nest sign was a gift from Head Coach Tom Siegfried to 2010 LHS Graduate and former Louisville Boys Basketball player Tyler Burk. Since graduation, Burk has filmed every game & many scrimmages for the team home or away. His Father & Mother, Mike and Valerie Burk, also volunteer their time by keeping stats for the football team. Tyler is following in their footsteps.

The picture on the sign reveals the Legend of Burk during the 2010 Senior Night contest against West Branch. During player introductions Burk copied the famous chalk throw (of that former Cavs player that will remain nameless) to send the student section into a frenzy. Later in the fourth quarter, Burk hit home a three-pointer that brought the whole gym to their feet.

Louisville went on to win the game 69-35, which secured them their last NBC Boys Basketball Title (2009-10). Louisville will open their season tomorrow at home against Central Catholic and will look to mimic that 2009-10 team by bringing home another NBC crown this season.
