Kennedy Keister and Jo Menegay each won their singles matches in the Leopards 4-1 road win over the Golden Eagles. The doubles teams of Kat Brown & Sherilynn Mullett and Lexi Collins & Mackenzie Murphy were also victorious.
GlenOak Golden Eagles
Louisville fell to host GlenOak 11-25, 25-10, 27-29, defeated Massillon 14-25, 25-19, 25-19, and lost to Canfield 23-25, 29-27, 6-25 in a quad meet at GlenOak High School Saturday. The Leopards are now 2-5 on the season.
The Leopards Riley Adams scored a late goal off a Bradley Terra corner kick, but the Golden Eagles would prevail 3-1 to spoil the season opener.
Both Leopards 4×800 Meter Relay teams qualified for state with 1st and 2nd place finishes. Louisville’s Nick Chaplik, Noah Chaplik, Zach Fresenko, and Morgan Cole all advanced to state in individual events.
Sarah Cantley struck out 9 and Ellie Jackson hit a 2-run homer to lead the Leopards past the Golden Eagles 9-2. Savannah Minerva and Teagan Rice also batted 3-for-4 for Louisville.
Alexa Oberster scored a game-high 6 goals and Mandy Wesely scored 5 to lead the Leopards past the Golden Eagles 21-5. Marissa Vick also scored 4 times and Haley Black had a hat trick.
Sean McKinney, Bradley Terra, and Braden Thomas all scored a pair of goals each to lead Louisville past GlenOak 8-6. Ethan Bellew and Jordan Mack netted the other scores for the Leopards.
Kloe Mercorelli and Alexa Oberster both scored 4 goals during the Leopards 18-2 rout of the Golden Eagles. Haley Black also recorded a Hat Trick for Louisville.
Nathan Mongiardo batted 2-for-3 and drove in Tyler Adams for the Leopards only run during their 6-1 loss to the Golden Eagles. Louisville is now 2-3 on the season.
The Lady Leopards drew the 6th Seed for the DI Canton District Girls Basketball Tournament and will travel to play the 3rd Seed Jackson Polar Bears on Saturday, February 18 at 1:00 in the Section Semifinals.
