Swim Teams Splits With Dover in Season Opener
Boys: Dover 101, Louisville 65
The Louisville Leopards boys swim team was handed a 101-65 loss by the Dover Tornadoes to open the season Friday. The win is Dover’s 10th straight over Louisville, a streak that began during the 2003-04 season.
In the loss, Louisville’s Alex Wesley captured first place in the 100 Meter Butterfly (1:08.33) and Jacob Cummings won the 100 Meter Freestyle (1:06.40). Dover captured first in the other 10 events which ultimately gave them the meet.

Girls: Louisville 88, Dover 82
The Louisville Lady Leopards girls swim team improved their winning streak to 14 with an 88-82 opening meet win against Dover Friday. The Lady Leps have now defeated the Tornadoes the last 5 seasons.
Freshman Allison Richmond captured first place in both the 200 Meter Freestyle (2:23.05) and the 400 Meter Freestyle (5:00.44). Her mark in the 400 Meter Freestyle set a new LHS record for that event in just the first swim meet of her high school career.
Amy Yu also took first place in the 100 Meter Butterfly (1:17.60) and Ashley Brookens won the 100 Meter Freestyle (1:11.04) to round off Louisville’s first place finishes. The Lady Leopards won the meet despite Dover claiming first place in 8 of the 12 events.
