In one of the purist games in Louisville Football history, the Leopards hosted the undefeated Springfield Spartans on October 13, 1995 and won 3-0.

The game remained scoreless after a goal-line stand by the Leopards late in the first half.  Beatty's Sports 2012 Football ShirtBrian Ramsey had made a touchdown saving tackle on a 52-yard run by Springfield inside the Leopards 15-yard-line.  A few plays later, the Spartans fumbled and Leopard defensive lineman Kaloni Bell recovered the ball inside the 1-yard-line.

Another scoreless 12 minutes went by as the Leopards ended the third quarter driving towards a score.  With 11:09 left in the fourth quarter, Louisville kicker Brian Parker booted a 29-yard field goal to give Louisville the lead.  It was Parker’s second field goal in consecutive weeks and prior to that the Leopards did not attempt a field goal in two seasons.

The Leopards defense did the rest as they earned their third consecutive shutout of the season.  It was their lowest scoring victory in Leopards Football history since another 3-0 win over Boardman in 1941.

“It’s just a shame someone has to lose a game like this,” Leopards Head Coach Rick Crislip said following the game. “It was a classic ball game, one they could have very easily won, and one we could have very easily lost.”

The Leopards would finish the year 7-3 and each team would conclude the season 5-2 in league play.  Marlington was the conference champion at 6-1 and the Spartans would have to wait another season before claiming their first NBC title.
