Softball Wins 10th Straight at Canfield

The Louisville Lady Leopards Varsity Softball team defeated the host Canfield Cardinals 3-1 Wednesday Evening at CHS. The victory was Louisville’s tenth straight win as they improve to 17-6 on the year.
Morgan Harris pitched a complete game 1-hitter and struck out 2 to lead the Lady Leopards. This was 
her second straight start pitching a no-hitter into the 6th inning (into the 7th at Lake). Rachel Tinkey’s lone Cardinal hit to start the 6th broke up the no-no. Nevertheless, Harris earned the victory to improve to 9-3 on the year.
Katie Cozy led the Louisville offense by doubling home Grace Jackson in each of her first two at-bats. Emily Cantley also batted in Cozy in the 7th inning for an insurance run. Cantley and Leandra Givens each finished with 2 hits for the Lady Leps.
Louisville has now defeated Canfield in 3 of the past 4 seasons. The two squads combined for 59 runs in their past 3 meetings before Wednesday’s 4-run pitcher’s duel.
