Softball Falls to GlenOak in Extra Innings
GlenOak 4, Louisville 3
The Louisville Leopards were edged 4-3 by the visiting GlenOak Golden Eagles in 8 innings on a blistery, windy Saturday Afternoon at LHS. The loss drops Louisville to 1-2 on the season.
In her Varsity Debut, Sarah Cantley pitched a complete game, gave up just 2 earned runs on 7 hits,and struck out 11 to lead the Leopards. Aliyah English led Louisville at the plate by batting 2-for-3 with a run scored.
GlenOak’s Kellsea Morrison homered in the top of the eight inning to lift lift the Golden Eagles past the Leopards. Sarah Seatter also batted 2-for-3 with a solo shot in the opening inning to give GlenOak the early advantage.
Louisville regained the lead in the third inning with a pair of runs. Kaycee Ollis drove in English from third. Then Teagan Rice doubled to center scoring Leandra Givens from second base.
The Leopards committed two errors in the fifth and surrendered the lead back to the Eagles 3-2. However, Grace Jackson’s 1 Out, RBI Single in the bottom the sixth knotted the game back at 3-3. Ollis scored the game-tying run from third on the play.
In the circle, Olivia Otani picked up the victory for the Golden Eagles. She pitched a complete game, gave up 3 earned runs on 6 hits, and struck out 10. Madison Corrick went 3-for-4 with a double & a run scored for GlenOak.
With the loss, the Golden Eagles have now taken 3 out of their last 4 meetings against the Leopards. GlenOak leads the all-time series 21-12 which includes a 10-7 mark at Louisville.
