Seniors Lead Baseball to Win Over Carrollton

Louisville Leopards Baseball Seniors 2015

Louisville 11, Carrollton 1, 5 Innings

The Louisville Leopards Varsity Baseball team earned an 11-1 victory in 5 Innings against the visiting Carrollton Warriors on Senior Day Thursday. With the victory, Louisville is now 16-8 overall and remains tied for first place with a 10-2 NBC record.

Senior Alex Hewitt pitched a complete game, gave up just 1 run on 4 hits, and struck out 8 to lead the Beatty's Sports Louisville Leopards Baseball Shirt 2015Leopards on the mound. Hewitt also ripped a walk-off single to right field in the bottom of the sixth to clinch the run-rule win for Louisville.

Senior Joe Crank blasted a 3-run triple to kickstart the Leopards 6-run fourth inning. Crank would go on to finish with 2 runs scored and 4 RBIs. Senior Adam Nyland also batted 2-for-3 with 3 runs batted in for Louisville. Nyland was the Warriors nightmare this week as he finished with 7 hits in just two games against Carrollton.

Caleb Pasiuk’s sacrifice fly to right field scored Krantz for the Warriors only run of the game in the top of the fifth inning. Carrollton is now 3-14 overall and 0-11 in conference play.

Brock Haren and Stephen Kerzan each had 2 hits, 2 runs scored, and an RBI for the Leopards as well. Louisville has now defeated Carrollton in 14 straight meetings.

Prior to the contest, Louisville honored all five of their Seniors that included Marco Buccasso, Joe Crank, Alex Hewitt, Adam Nyland, and Krisztian Toth. After edging Carrollton two evenings ago, the Leopards JV Baseball team blasted the host Warriors 17-1 Thursday to clinch the NBC Outright. With the win, Louisville is now 20-3 overall and remains a perfect 12-0 against conference foes.

Corey White finished 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles and 6 runs batted in to lead the Leopards. Tyler Croxton, Casey Nau, and Issac Mathie all finished with two hits for Louisville as well.

Starting Pitcher Brody Hahn pitched 6.1 innings, gave up 1 run on 5 hits, and struck out 6 for the Leopards. Hahn also drove in 3 runs at the plate.
