Schooley, Gramoy, Buccasso, and Minster Hit Double Figures in Win

Every time the Louisville Leopards boys basketball team has won this season, it seems a different player boosts the Leopards to victory. Tuesday night, Michael Schooley scored 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the Leopards (8-5) past the Canton Central Catholic Crusaders (5-8) 66-47. Owen Gramoy, Rocco Buccasso, and Toby Minster all scored double figures in the blowout as well.
After the Leopards took a 19-12 first quarter lead, the Crusaders stormed back with a 7-2 run to open the second. However, Louisville finished the half on a 16-0 run and held Central off the scoreboard for 6:34 to take a 37-19 lead at the break. “We wanted to play more as a team. Coach (Siegfried) said, to an outsider, it looked like we (had been) playing selfish,” said Owen Gramoy who hit home 3 three-pointers and had 13 of his 17 points in the first half. “It was definitely a made point to us.”
The Leps continued to emphasize Coach Siegfried’s point in the second half. Louisville came out of the locker room scoring on their first five possessions and held the Crusaders to single digits again in the third quarter to extend their lead to 23 heading into the final period.
In the fourth quarter the Leopards shot a whooping 73% from the field in canning 8 of 11 shots. Buccasso reached double figures with 12, and so did Minster who ended the game with 11 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 assists.. Central did hit 3 triples and had a 12-2 run to cut the lead to 62-45. Allan Schirtzinger finished the game leading Central with 11 points and 7 rebounds. Nevertheless, Louisville still cruised to the 66-47 win.
