Royal Knights Roll to Win With LHS as Host

The Stark County Royal Knights rolled to a 54-41 victory over the Stark County Red Dawgs in Special Olympics Basketball action at LHS Wednesday.

Cory Amatangelo poured in a game-high 24 points and Max Broom scored all of his 13 points in the second half lead the Royal Knights. The Knights took an early 14-4 lead after the first quarter, went ahead 23-17 at the break, and then took complete command by outscoring the Red Dawgs 19-7 in the third quarter.

The Red Dawgs were led John Daniels who dropped in a team-high 16 points and Scott Walter who hit home 4 three-pointers to finish with 12.

Louisville students Rocco Degenhard and Nate Manko represented the blue and white Royal Knights and elated their hometown crowd. Manko made 2 three-pointers during the contest and Degenhard fired up the Leopard student section.
