Minerva Forces Season Split with Louisville in Girls Golf

The Minerva Lions reversed the fortunes of the visiting Louisville Leopards in their second Beatty's Sports White Polo Adconsecutive meeting. Minerva defeated Louisville 187-204 in Girls Golf action Tuesday at Edgewater Golf Course. With the loss, the Lady Leopards drop to 2-3 overall and 2-2 in conference play.

Sierra Townsend finished with a match low score of 41 for Louisville. Rounding out the scoring for the Lady Leopards were Bailey Spring 49, Abby Beaver 57, and Aubrey Leone 57.

While they did not have the lowest score individually, the Lions had four players shoot under 50. These included Ellie Chaddock 45, Logan Pottorf 46, MacKenzie Clark 47, and Sydni Hertel 49.

Home course advantage played key in Minerva’s victory. Louisville also faced adversity when Summer Walters had to withdraw due to an injury. With the loss, the Lady Leopards are now 5-3 all-time against the Lady Lions which includes a 1-3 record on the road against them. Louisville was victorious in their first meeting at Skyland Pines last Thursday 190-200.
