Lady Leopards Face Tough Competition at Massillon Quad – Volleyball

The Louisville Leopards Varsity Volleyball Team faced tough competition at the Massillon Quad Saturday Morning at Washington High School. The Lady Leopards were swept in two sets in all three of their matches against host Massillon, GlenOak, and Canfield. With the losses, Louisville falls to 1-3 on the year.

The Louisville JV team hosted the same foes in a quad meet Saturday Morning as well. The Lady Leopards JV defeated Massillon, but fell to GlenOak and Canfield to make their record 2-2 on the young season.

Massillon 25-25, Louisville 17-19

Louisville fell to host Massillon 25-17, 25-19 in the opening match of the morning.

Kaitlyn Baskerville was the Lady Leopards top server for the match with 6 points and 1 ace. Other offensive leaders for Louisville included Cami Nau with a team-high 4 kills and Lauren Siegfried with a team leading 5 assists.

Defensively, the Lady Leopards were led by Erin Hahn who registered 2 blocks and Amanda Clark who finished with 5 digts.

JV: Louisville 25-25, Massillon 16-16

GlenOak 25-25, Louisville 23-21

My Fit Life Personal Trainer AdThe Lady Leopards dropped two close sets against GlenOak in their middle match. The Golden Eagles won 25-23, 25-21.

The Louisville attack was led by Emily Fresenko with 8 kills and Amanda Clark with 12 assists. Kaitlyn Baskerville was again the Leopards leading server with 5 points and 2 aces.

Emily Phillips led the defense with 9 digs. A host of Louisville players also helped put up a backstop near the front of the net with 2 blocks a piece. The culprits included Paige Cole, Erin Hahn, and Katelyn Monnot.

JV: GlenOak 25-25, Louisville 16-17

Canfield 25-25, Louisville 11-18

In their final match of the day, Louisville dropped a 25-11, 25-18 decision against a tough Canfield team.

Cami Nau led the Lady Leopards as their top server and top hitter. She had 5 points and 2 aces serving and also 4 kills. Amanda Clark and Laruen Siegfried also led the team in assists with 5 each.

On defense, Paige Cole finished with 5 digs and Katelyn Monnot had a block.

JV: Canfield 25-25, Louisville 12-25

UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next host the North Canton Hoover Vikings on Tuesday, September 4. JV will begin at 6:00 PM and Varsity will follow around 7:00 PM.
