Louisville trounced visiting Mansfield Madison Comprehensive 35-13 in the home opener back on September 2, 2005.
Drew Kuhn accumulated 149 total yards and scored 5 touchdowns to lead the Leopards. Four of Kuhn’s touchdowns came on the ground on runs of 56, 3, 1, and 3. He also connected with Kyle Smith for a 13 yard touchdown pass that put Louisville ahead 21-7 at halftime.
The Leopards out-rushed the Rams 252-145. Brian Whaley was the leading rusher for Louisville with 15 carries for 137 yards. Kuhn also rushed the ball 13 times for 84 yards.
Kuhn finished 6 of 12 through the air for 65 yards. His most frequent target was Ben Schmucker who made 5 receptions for 52 yards.
Madison was led by Matthew Brown who had 2 catches for 113 yards and scored on an 86 yard touchdown pass from Corey Rupert in the third quarter. The Rams Charles Gandy also broke free for a 54 yard touchdown run in the opening period to tie the game at 7-7. The Leopards scored four unanswered touchdowns to put the game away after that.
