The Louisville Leopards Seniors went out with a bang during a 58-6 demolition of the Minerva Lions back on October 27, 2006. Louisville out-gained Minerva 413-84 on a muddy Louisville Stadium field en rout to clinching their 17th straight 
non-losing season.
Quarterback Ben Schmucker carried the ball 24 times for 190 yards and 5 touchdowns to lead the offense. Schmucker scored on runs of 3, 10, 5, 10, and 3.
Runningback Marcus Poyser also carried the ball 18 times for 118 yards and scored from 18 yards out. Kyle Falk scored twice on the ground as well and Aaron Hooper scored on a late 30 yard touchdown run.
The Lions only score came in the second quarter when Brandon Phelps found Richie Walters for a 16 yard touchdown pass to make it 14-6. The Lions would turn the ball over four times in the game and the Leopards would score 44 unanswered points following their only touchdown. Louisville also had 23 first downs to Minerva’s 5.
Although the season did not go as planned, the the 2006 Louisville Leopards showed heart in winning their final three games of the season to avoid their first losing season since 1989.
