Louisville Volleyball Clinches for the Cure Against Minerva

Louisville 25-25-25, Minerva 11-12-13

The Louisville Leopards Varsity Volleyball Team swept the visiting Minerva Lions 25-11, 25-12, 25-13 on JennCanAdVolley for the Cure Night Thursday at Louisville High School. With the victory, Louisville improves to 18-2 overall and clinches at least a share of the NBC with a 12-0 mark in conference play.

Paige Haren led the Leopards as the match’s top server with 13 points & 4 aces and also recorded a match-high 31 assists. Other match leaders for Louisville included Brynn Guist with 4 blocks, Georgia Kiko with 13 kill, and Emma Vacha with 10 digs.

The Lions (3-17, 1-11) were led by Regan Jones who was the team’s leading server with 10 points & 1 ace and Beatty's Grey Striped Long Sleevealso the team’s top hitter with 5 kills. Mckenna Patterson also finished with 8 assists and Emily Sheehan had 8 digs on defense. Louisville has now swept Minerva in each of the last three seasons following a split in 2013.

This is the first time the Lady Leopards have won back-to-back league titles in team history. Louisville has now won the NBC 4 times in the past 7 seasons. The Leopards have now claimed 8 NBC Championships and 10 total league championships (2 Federal League) in their history.

UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next travel to Canton South to take on the Wildcats on Tuesday, October 11. JV will begin at 5:00 PM and Varsity will follow around 6:00 PM. Louisville can clinch the NBC Outright with a victory at South.
