Louisville Shutout at West Branch, Warriors Clinch Share

Louisville outhit West Branch 6-4, but the host Warriors still shutout the Leopards 5-0 Saturday. With Beatty's Sports Spring 2014 Baseball Shirt 2the victory, West Branch clinches a share of their first NBC Title since 1997. With the loss, Louisville falls to 8-14.

Connor Zwick led the Leopards with 2 hits. Jake Adams, Marcus Buccasso, Corey Hileman, and Stephen Kerzan had the other basehits.

The Warriors were led by Kip DeShields who pitched a complete game shutout and struck out 3. Jake Smith also batted 2-for-2 with a double and 2 runs batted in.

UP NEXT: The Leopards will next host the West Branch Warriors on Thursday, May 22 at 4:30 PM. It will be Senior Night and the final game of the 2014 season.

JV Game 2: Louisville 9, West Branch 6, 5 Innings

The Leopards defeated the Warriors 9-6 in the second game of Saturday’s twin bill to conclude the season. The game was called after 5 innings due to the weather.

Brody Hahn & Cameron White each batted 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI’s to lead Louisville. Justin Agnone, Tyler Croxton, and Reis Rankin each had a pair of runs scored as well.

With the victory, the Louisville JV Squad finishes the season with an overall record of 14-4 and a league record of 11-1. This makes them the Outright NBC Champions of Junior Varsity Baseball as every other team has at least two losses.
