Louisville Shows Explosiveness Against Marlington

The Louisville Lady Leopards played a near picture perfect game in routing the visiting Marlington Dukes 15-0 in 5 Innings Tuesday. With the win, Louisville improves to 7-4 overall and remains a perfect 5-0 in NBC play.
Katie Cozy led the Lady Leopards by batting 4 for 4 with a double, a 2-run homer, and 4 runs batted in. The home run was Cozy’s first of the season. Amy Hoover also went 3 for 4 with 3 RBI’s and 3 runs scored.
Kylie Zifer and Lexi Givens hit back-to-back solo home runs to start the fourth inning. Zifer was all 
smiles as her shot hit off the top of the fence in center before leaving the yard for her first career homer. Givens laced the ball over the fence in far left field for her second home run of the season. Louisville has now hit 13 home runs this season from 8 different players.
The Lady Leopards scored 7 runs on 8 hits in the second inning, all of which came with 2 outs already recorded. Louisville would tack on another 5 runs in the third and 3 more in the fourth to make their statement. They finished with 17 hits for the game.
On the mound, Morgan Harris (4-2) was dominate in picking up her fourth win of the season. She pitched all five innings, gave up just 1 hit, and struck out 4. At one point she retired 11 straight Dukes batters.
With the victory, the Lady Leopards have now won their last 8 meetings against the Lady Dukes. Marlington still leads the all-time series 27-25, but Louisville has outscored Marlington 61-0 in their last four meetings.
