Siegfried Notches 100th League Win in Leopards Final NBC Game at West Branch – Boys Basketball

The Louisville Leopards Boys Varsity Basketball Team downed the host West Branch Warriors 71-56 Friday Night at West Branch High School. With the win, Louisville finishes the regular season with an overall mark of 16-6 and a 12-2 record in the NBC.

Louisville Leopards Basketball Navy Blue Shirt - Beatty's Sports 2017Colton Jones hit 5 three-pointers and scored a team-high 20 points to lead the Leopards. Derek Zeller also hit 3 triples and poured in 18, Brandon Wahl dropped in 15, and Cam King tacked on 14. These four Louisville players accounted for 94% of their offense on the night.

The Warriors (16-6, 8-6) were led by TJ DeShields who scored a game-high 21 points. Brandon Zuchowski also scored 13 and Reese Leone hit double figures with 10.

With the victory, the Leopards have now won 11 straight against the Warriors including the last 6 in Beloit. Louisville now leads the all-time series 57-24 which includes a 43-15 record in NBC league matchups dating back to 1990. West Branch swept the Leopards in Head Coach Tom Siegfried’s first season at the helm, but Louisville has gone 18-2 against the Warriors under his direction since.

This was the Leopards final game in the Northeastern Buckeye Conference and also Coach Siegfried’s 100th win in league play. In 11 seasons, Louisville posted a 100-54 (.649) mark in conference games under Siegfried. Leopards Boys Varsity Basketball finishes 272-134 (.670) all-time in NBC league play in 29 years of competition.

The Leopards JV Team finished the season with a 59-40 victory over the host Warriors Friday Evening at WBHS. With the win, Louisville closes the season by ripping off 12 straight victories and ends the year with an overall mark of 18-4. The Leopards also conclude their 2017-2018 campaign with an NBC record of 13-1 making them outright league champions.

Scott Gronow scored all of his game-high 13 points through the first three quarters to lead the Leopards. Dakota Hoffman also reached double digits with 11 and Collin Chambers scored all 8 of his points in the opening half. Both Chambers and Hoffman hit 2 three-pointers each.

West Branch was led by Reece Berger who dropped in 9. Andrew Coffee also scored 8 and both David McKeivier and Alek Wilson finished with 5 a piece.
