Louisville Blanked at Salem 1-0 – Girls Soccer

The Louisville Leopards Girls Varsity Soccer team was shutout by the host Salem Quakers 1-0 Wednesday Night at Reilly Stadium. With the loss, Louisville drops to 6-5-2 overall and 4-2 in the NBC.
Paige Bailey scored the only goal in the game for the Quakers at the 4:22 mark of the first half. She laced it into the top of the middle of the net to give Salem the lead which they never relinquished.
The Leopards out-shot the Quakers 10-6 in a losing effort.
The win is Salem’s first against Louisville since their debut in the league in 2011. SHS also won that match at 4-3. The Leopards had won against the Quakers in each of the last 5 seasons in outscoring SHS 20-6. Louisville still leads the all-time series 5-2, but the series is an even 2-2 at Salem.
JV: Louisville 5, Salem 1
The Louisville Leopards Girls JV Soccer Team downed the host Salem Quakers 5-1 Wednesday Evening. With the win, Louisville is now 6-3-2 overall and 4-1 against NBC foes.
Megan Hampe and Evangelia Meckel each scored a goal and had an assist to lead the Leopards. Mady Brown, Megan Dorosky, and Emilee Mueller had the other goals for Louisville.
Gabriella Smith and Tapanga Smith also recorded assists for the Leopards.

UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next travel to GlenOak to take on the Golden Eagles on Monday, October 9. JV will begin at 5:00 PM and Varsity will follow around 7:00 PM.
