Wahl Posts 32 as Louisville Scores Road Win At Salem – Boys Basketball

The Louisville Leopards Boys Varsity Basketball Team earned a 73-53 win over the host Salem Quakers at John A. Cabas Gymnasium Friday Night. With the win, Louisville improves to 11-5 overall and remains alone in first place in the NBC with a league mark of 8-2.

His performance included hitting 6 three-pointers and making a perfect 8 of 8 free throws from the line. Derek Zeller also scored 15 points, Cameron King added 9, and Spencer Hall tacked on 8 to round out the LHS top scorers.

This is the second straight year that a Louisville player scored over 30 in a game at Salem. Chris Libertore also dropped in 39 in a 77-65 win at Salem last year. Previously Wahl hit 7 three-pointers and scored 31 points to lead the JV Leopards to a 64-53 road win at Salem as a Sophomore.

Louisville built a 20-8 lead at the end of the first quarter and led throughout. They took a 30-23 lead into the half and held a double digit 49-39 lead at the end of three. Wahl scored 10 in the fourth quarter to help the Leopards double their advantage in outscoring Salem 24-14 in the final eight minutes.

The Quakers (7-9, 3-7) were led by Mitch Davidson who finished with a team-high 30 points. Zach Bezon also scored 7 and Seth Shivers added 5.

With the victory, Louisville has now defeated Salem in 10 straight meetings including the past 5 at John A. Cabas Gymnasium. The Leopards are now 11-3 against the Quakers since Salem joined the league in the 2011-12 season. Louisville also leads the all-time series 13-5 dating back to the first known game between the two schools in 1946.
