Beatty's Sports Football 2018 Schedule Shirt T-ShirtOn October 17, 1964 Louisville runningback Chuck Ehlers stole to the show during a day game at Poland.  Ehlers scored on touchdown runs of 1 and 57, caught a 34 yard touchdown pass from quarterback Duane Houser, and caught two conversion attempts as Louisville demolish previously undefeated Poland 36-0 at Baird Mitchell Field.

The “Flying Frenchman” Bob Gladieux didn’t disappoint either.  He scored on a 6 yard touchdown run in the third quarter and threw a 34 yard touchdown pass to Mike Katich in the fourth quarter.  Gladieux also helped convert three two-point conversions by running in one and  completing passes to Ehlers for two others.

The loss for the Bulldogs was one of only two during the 1964 season.  Poland would finish the season 6-2, 5-2 good enough for second in the Tri-County League.  For the Leopards the shutout was one of five consecutive to end the season as they would not only finish the campaign a perfect 10-0, but also unscored upon on league play.
