Louisville Earns Road Victory at Massillon – Boys Basketball

Grove Appliance Alliance Ohio AdThe Louisville Leopards Varsity Basketball Team downed the host Massillon Tigers 71-62 Saturday Night at Washington High School. With the win, Louisville improves to 2-1 on the season.

Brandon Wahl poured in 16 of his team-high 20 points in the second half to lead the Leopards. Cam King also posted 19 points and Derek Zeller dropped in 11 for Louisville.

The Leopards added to their lead in each of the first three quarters. Field goals were at a premium in the first quarter, but Louisville managed to take an 11-7 lead after the first eight minutes of play. The Leopards would then pull ahead 29-22 by halftime.

However, Louisville ended the period on an 8-0 run to bulge their lead to double digits at 51-40. The Tigers would trim the Leopard advantage to 61-55 with less two minutes to play, but Louisville outscored Massillon 10-7 the rest of the way to take the contest.

The Tigers (0-3) were led by Dyson Berry and Brett Martin who each scored a game-high 23 points apiece. Anthony Ballard and Jayden Ballard also added 6 points each for Massillon.

With the win, the Leopards have now taken 2 out of their last 3 matchups with the Tigers, which includes the last two games in the series played at Massillon. Louisville still trails the all-time series 6-15 with a 3-6 mark at Washington High School.

The Leopards JV Team fell in overtime to the host Tigers 50-47 Saturday Night at Washington High School. With the loss, Louisville falls to 1-2 on the season.

Jimmy Wright made 6 three-pointers in scoring a team-high 22 points to lead the Leopards. Wright hit 4 shots from long range in the second quarter alone. Other top scorers for Louisville included Cory Noble who dropped in 12 and Ryan Pukys who added 6.

Massillon was led by Cortez Thomas who made 4 three-pointers and finished with a game-high 24 points. Luke Sabo also scored 8 and Darien Williams tallied 6 for the Tigers.
