Louisville Leopards at Hoban Knights 2008 Football Highlights
Louisville 28, Hoban 3
After being shutout in the first half, Louisville scored on their first four second half possessions to rout the host Akron Archbishop Hoban Knights 28-3 at Dowed Field on September 5, 2008.
Leopards Quarterback Neal Seaman finished 13 of 18 passing for 214 yards and 2 touchdowns. Wide Receiver Bobby Swigert willed his way to the endzone on both touchdown grabs of 52 and 47 yards. Swigert would finish as the game’s top receiver with 5 catches for 114 yards.
Louisville out-gained Hoban 329-127 in total yards including a 115-81 advantage on the ground. Dane Mathie led the Leopards rushing attack with 12 carries for 57 yards and 2 touchdowns.
The Knights only score came from a Zach Christenson 43 yard field goal with 1.9 seconds remaining in the first half.
Louisville failed to score on two earlier first half opportunities. Hoban blocked a 24 yard field goal after
the Leopards drove to the Knights 7. Louisville returned the favor by blocking a Hoban punt that landed out of bound at the Knights 5. However, that Leopard goal-to-go drive only went backwards and led to a missed field goal.
The second half was a different story as Louisville became unstoppable in scoring 28 unanswered to improve to 3-0.
