Louisville 8, CVCA 7, OT
The Louisville Leopards Girls Varsity Lacrosse Team edged the host CVCA Royals 8-7 in overtime Saturday at Royals Stadium. With the win, Louisville improves their undefeated mark to 7-0 on the season.
Mandy Wesely scored the game-winning sudden death goal in overtime to lift the Leopards past the Royals. Alexa Oberster won the opening draw in the extra period and took the ball straight to the goal. Her shot was deflected away and CVCA returned the rebound to the other side of the field.
The Royals turned the ball over on their possession and was controlled by Wesely. She drove the ball the length of the field and fired the game winner into the bottom corner of the net to keep the Leopards undefeated.
