Louisville Freshman Baseball Swept at Home By Highland

Highlights 17-5, Louisville 11-2
The Leopards Freshman squad was swept by the visiting Highland Hornets Saturday afternoon. Highland won a wild game one 17-11 before rallying to stun the Leopards 5-2 in game two.
GAME 1
Phillip Thomas led the Leopard offense by pounding out 3 of their 11 hits in the opening contest. Trevor Burk, Kaleb Faye, Issac Mathie, and Cameron White all had a pair of RBI’s each to account for 8 of Louisville’s 11 runs. Nick Harsh also scored four times during the game.
White also struck out 5 on the mound and Tanner Brahler struck out 4 as well. Only 8 of the 17 runs given up by Louisville pitching were earned runs as the Leopards committed 8 errors in the field.
GAME 2
Louisville’s Trevor Burk shutout Highland for the first 5 innings of the game before giving up 2 runs in the fifth. The Hornets would score 3 more runs in the seventh to take a 5-1 advantage before the Leopards added a run in the last of the seventh to make the final 5-2.
Jarrett Heater and Paul Howard each had a pair of singles for Louisville, which accounted for 4 of their 7 hits as a team. Kyle Ashcraft and Christian Hendricks had the only RBI’s for the Leopards and Tyler Croxton & Hendricks were the only Louisville players to score.
Amazingly after committing 8 errors in game one, Louisville played perfect in the field during the second game. Neither team struck out at the plate either in game two.
