Brian Potts Extra Point Louisville Leopards Vs. West Branch 2001 Football

Louisville At West Branch 2001 Football Highlights

On September 28, 2001, the Louisville Leopards traveled to West Branch and earned a nail-biting 7-6 victory over the first place Warriors.

After a scoreless first half, West Branch got on the board first on a 1 yard touchdown run by Robert Stull. However, the extra point try failed leaving the score at 6-0 Warriors. Stull Beatty's Sports Gear Up For Football Seasonalso caught 2 passes for 52 yards to lead West Branch.

Four minutes later, Quarterback Gary Whaley hit Jacob Burkhart in the far right corner of the endzone to knot the game at 6-6. Kicker Brian Potts sailed the extra point through which gave Louisville the lead with 4:17 remaining in the contest.

The Leopards would never relinquish that lead as the defense would make big play after big play.

Whaley would finish with 106 yards passing and Runningback Curtis Elsass would finish with the same amount of yards rushing to lead the Leps.
