Minerva scored the first 14 points of the contest in earning a Senior Night victory over visiting Louisville 54-35. With the loss, the Lady Leopards fall to 7-14 overall and finish 7-7 in conference play.

Brooke Layton led all Louisville scorers with 11 points and 2 three-pointers. Sarah Lairson also broke double digits with 10 and Sabryna Benzel added 7.

After an emotional Senior Night ceremony, the Lions roared to a 14-0 lead midway through the first Beatty's Sports Leopards Pink Winter Hatquarter. They hit 4 of their 6 three-pointers in the opening quarter in which they outscored the Leopards 23-5. The Lions extended their lead to 30-9 at the break after that.

Lauren Hayman and Morgan Preston hit 3 three-pointers each. Hayman finished with a game-high 18, Preston poured in 13, and Josie Chaddock added 11. The Lions are now 12-9 overall and also finished 7-7 in NBC play.

The victory is Minerva’s first over Louisville since 2011 and first at home over Louisville since 2010. The Lady Leopards won the previous 5 meetings in the series that they lead 37-19. Louisville is now 16-11 all-time at Minerva.

The Lady Leopards bid for an even NBC record came up short at Minerva as they fell to the Lady Lions 40-26. With the loss, Louisville is now 8-13 overall and finishes 6-8 in the NBC.

The Leopards were led by Alexa Oberster who hit 2 three-pointers and scored all of her team-high 8 points in the final quarter. Emily Shea & Danielle Walter also scored 5 points each.
