Not much went well defensively for the Louisville Leopards during a 7-3 scrimmage loss to the Southeast Pirates Thursday evening at Louisville High School.

After fifteen minutes of scoreless soccer, the Pirates struck like lightning scoring twice in 55 seconds to take a 2-0 lead.

The Leopards cut the lead in half when Riley Groves netted in a goal with 10:29 remaining in the first half.  However, the Pirates broke through once more nine minutes later to take a 3-1 lead into the break.

The wheels came off for the Leps eleven minutes into the second half.  The Pirates again scored twice in less than a minute to take a commanding 5-1 lead.

Paul Fox and Kyle Baker each scored goals for the Leopards before the final whistle blew, but the Pirates matched them with two more goals leaving an ugly 7-3 score on the scoreboard behind the east goal.

NEXT UP: The Leps will take on the Alumni squad on Saturday, August 20 at 1:00 PM before opening up the regular season at Crestwood on Monday, August 22 at 5:00 PM.
