Louisville 5, Canton McKinley 0

Paul Fox scored a pair of goals to lead the Leopards over the Canton McKinley Bulldogs 5-0 at the Louisville Soccer Field Thursday evening.  Riley Groves, Harrison Raub, and Kyle Baker also had one goal each to help the Leopards improve to 8-6 on the season.

Louisville scored twice in the first half to take control of the contest.  The first goal was setup Beatty's Sports Grey Louisville Athletics T-Shirtby Brennan Seemann’s pass to Baker on the right side of the penalty box.  Baker then centered the ball in front of the net to Fox who took a stab at it.  The ball glanced off a McKinley players’ foot and into the net to make it 1-0.  A foul against McKinley just outside of the penalty box 28 minutes later allowed Groves a free kick.  The Senior netted the kick to make it 2-0 Louisville.

In the second half the Leopards added on 3 more goals in a span of less than 11 minutes.  Raub battled his way through several Bulldogs defenders and even deflected the ball off the goalie before tapping it into the net for the first score.  Then the excellent passing of Trevor Burk and Alex Silvestri setup Baker’s score into the right side of the net to make it 4-0.  Baker also contributed to the final goal of the contest with a pass ahead to Raub.  Raub then slid a pass to Fox on the right side of the goal.  Fox went crossfield and buried the ball into the top left corner of the net for his second goal of the contest.

For the first time since September 23, 2010 the Leopards recorded consecutive shutouts.  Austin Hallas, Austin Terra, and a host of others stepped up big defensively to put out any threats.  The Leopards are now 2-2-1 against Canton McKinley all-time.

The win guarantees the Leopards at least an even record for the regular season.  But the Louisville Boys Soccer team has bigger plans than 8-8 as they will look to beat Alliance for the first time since 2004 on Senior Night Tuesday.

Louisville 2, West Branch 0

Riley Groves scored two goals and Paul Fox had an assist as Louisville won at West Branch 2-0 Tuesday night.  The Leopards are now 3-7-3 against the Warriors all-time, but are undefeated against them in their past three meetings.
