Leopards Have 7th Inning Deja Vu At Alliance, Even Record

Louisville Leopards Varsity Baseball 2014

Louisville 3, Alliance 2

For the second straight year the Louisville Leopards Baseball Team scored the game-winning run in the seventh inning at Alliance. Alex Hollifield’s sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh brought home Connor Zwick to give Louisville the 3-2 victory. With the win, the Leopards improved to 4-4 overall and 4-1 in NBC play.

On the mound, Jake Adams pitched six strong innings giving up just 2 runs on 4 hits and striking out Beatty's Sports Spring 2014 Baseball Shirt 21. In earning the decision, Adams picked up his first career Varsity Win. In the seventh inning, Jordan Hughes took the rubber to earn his second save in as many games. After walking the lead-off batter, Hughes said Good Morning, Good Afternoon, and Good Night to the next three Aviators hitters to clinch the win.

Hughes also singled home Zach Shea in the second inning for the only other Louisville RBI. Zwick scored the other Leopards run in the opening inning via an error.

Garrett Yoder tallied 2 of Louisville’s 7 hits in the game. Neither team had an extra base-hit and Leopards pitching held the Aviators to just 4 hits on the evening.

With the victory Louisville has now won four straight ball games after losing their first four. They have now defeated the Aviators thee straight times overall and six consecutive times at Alliance. All six of those victories were by 2 runs or less and the last three were 1-run victories.

UP NEXT: The Leopards will next travel to GlenOak to take on the Golden Eagles under the lights on Monday, April 21 at 7:00 PM.
