The Louisville Lady Leopards erased a first half deficit and roared in the second half to claim a 43-31 victory over visiting Marlington Wednesday Evening. With the win, Louisville is now 7-13 overall and 7-6 in NBC play.

The Dukes jumped out to leads of 10-2 and 16-4 in the opening half. The Leopards answered back with a 10-0 run to cut the deficit to a single possession. Three-point baskets by Abby Beaver and Taylor Noble sparked the run for Louisville who trailed just 19-17 at halftime.

The Lady Leopards erupted out of the gate in the second half. They quickly took the lead with three Beatty's Sports Leopards Pink Winter Hatstraight baskets in the first 69 seconds of the third quarter. Beaver provided assists on the first five Louisville scores of the second half as the Lady Leopards took a double digit advantage. Hollyann Mullett scored 8 of her game-high 12 points in the third period alone.

Louisville made smart passes in the fourth quarter and secured their victory. Rachel Zeller also broke double figures with 10 and Taylor Noble finished with 7.

Marlington was led by Morgan Penird who scored all 9 of her points from beyond the arch. Alyssa Powers also scored 7 and Sierra Mayle added 6 for the 12-8, 8-6 Dukes.

With the victory, the Lady Leopards have now taken 9 of the last 10 meetings from the Lady Dukes and 32 of the last 34 overall. Louisville leads the all-time series 60-17 which includes a 28-10 record at LHS.

Alexa Oberster and Danielle Wallter reaped havoc in the backcourt all game long. Their offensive and defensive efforts led the Louisville JV Squad to a convincing 47-30 victory over visiting Marlington. With the victory, the Lady Leopards are now 8-12 overall and 6-7 in conference play.

Walter scored a game-high 17 points and Oberster poured in 12. Kennedy Brown also had a strong start in scoring 7 of her 9 points in the opening quarter.

The Lady Dukes were led by McCally Peck with 6, and both Erika Buck and Danae Greco with 5 each.
