Leopards Draw 5th Seed, Will Play at Triway May 14

The Leopards drew the fifth seed in the DII Canton District Baseball Tournament draw Sunday and will travel to Triway to face the Titans in the Sectional Final on Tuesday, May 14.

The last time Louisville and Triway met was back on April 22, 2000. The Leopards went on the road that day to sweep a double header 9-8 in game one and 15-9 in game Beatty's Sports Baseballl Shirt 2013two. Louisville has taken the last four meetings with Triway overall.

While our records are incomplete, we do have proof that the two squads have met in the postseason at least three times with the Leopards holding a 2-1 edge over the Titans. The Titans won the last meeting in the Sectional Finals at Triway 17-4 back in 1996. Louisville defeated Triway 1-0 in eight innings back in the 1993 District Semifinals at Fairless and also downed the Titans 7-1 back in the 1991 District Semifinals at Barberton.

A victory over Triway should send Louisville to Thurman Munson Memorial Stadium for a game with second-seeded Alliance. Canton South took the number one seed overall in the tournament as well. The Leopards split with both of these NBC schools during the regular season.

Louisville is 41-41 in tournament play since 1972, which includes a 25-22 record since entering Division II.
