The Alliance Aviators used a 16-0 run into and out of halftime to pull ahead of the Leopards and eventually take the game 69-49.  Cody Cheezan led Louisville with 15 points and Mike Kelly also added 8 for the Leps who fell to 0-4 on the season.

Both teams exchanged scoring runs to start the contest.  The Leopards led 9-2, before Alliance took their first lead at 13-11.  Kelly scored all of his points in the first quarter, which included the opening basket and 2 three-pointers.  He would be plagued by injury later on in the half which kept him out for most of the remainder of the game.

Alliance also found success from beyond the arch nailing 3 of their 5 makes from downtown in the first quarter.  Hitting triples were: Sam Cundiff, JJ Kukura, and Vern Martin.  Martin and Kukura would lead the Aviators by combining for 38 points on the evening.

Trailing only 18-16 to the undefeated Aviators after a single period, the Leopards continued to battle deep into the second quarter.  A bucket by Trevor Meredith with 2:25 remaining in the half cut the Alliance lead to 29-26.  Then the lid came off and the Aviators poured out a 10-0 run capped off by a Vern Martin dunk that also drew a foul.  Alliance also received 9 points in the quarter from Parrish Martin, who finished the evening with 16.  The Aviators led 39-26 at the break.

The Aviators unofficially shot 44% in the second half and outscored the Leps 30-23 to close the game.  Eight turnovers and shooting 6 of 16 from the charity stride in the second half plagued the Leopards chances of a comeback.  Luckily Leopard Nation has a chance to erase this game from memory quickly as the NBC’s best team over the last three years will host Akron North tomorrow night at LHS.
