Louisville Vs. Field Full Video Highlights

Six different Louisville players, led by Riley Groves two goals, scored in their scrimmage against Field Monday evening.  The Leopards thrashed the Falcons 7-0 in the contest.

Groves went crossfield to hit home the first goal of the game and also kicked through a PK to open scoring in the second half.  Louisville held a 3-0 lead at the break after two more goals from Harrison Raub and Michael Lautner.  Raub’s goal was set up by Kyle Baker’s steal, fancy dribbling, and a beautiful pass.  Lautner scored after rebounding a deflection off the Falcons goalie from Grove’s corner kick.

Later in the second half, Lautner found a wide open Corey Wilson who shot the ball from the right side of the net.  The ball tipped off the fingertips of the goalie and into the cage to put Louisville up 5-0.

Next, Baker again proved to be a menace to the opposing defense.  His fancy footwork allowed him to dribble to the right side of the box and get off a beautiful shot.  The ball deflected off the goalie and Freshman Brennen Seaman netted it home off the rebound.  Finally Seaman used his foot skills to assist Micah Newenschwander’s goal late in the second half.

Louisville is now 2-0 in scrimmages this preseason and has outscored their opponents 19-1.
