Lady Leps Take Care of Business at Home, Ready for League Tilt

Hollyann Mullett poured in 16 points and hit 3 three-pointers to lead the Louisville Lady Leopards past the visiting Salem Lady Quakers 48-29 Wednesday evening.  Mackenzie Rankin also Beatty's Winter Hoodiesadded 9 points for Louisville who now improves to 12-5 overall and 9-1 in conference play.

The Lady Quakers led 6-0 and held the Lady Leopards off the scoreboard for the first three minutes of the contest.  However, Louisville followed their icy start with a 16-2 run and never looked back.  They took a 20-10 lead into the half, doubled up the Quakers 14-7 in the third quarter, and outscored Salem in the fourth quarter 14-12 to seal the deal.

Clara Lemmon also scored 6 points for the Leopards, while Hannah Lemmon and Jordan Monnot each added 5.  The Quakers were led by Lindsey Foster with 11 points and Ciera Trybend with 8.

With the victory, Louisville has now taken the last 6 games in the all-time series against Salem that they now lead 7-5.  More importantly, with the win the Lady Leps keep their one game lead over Carrollton and West Branch.  Louisville will travel to Carrollton Saturday to compete in a game that could send them on the straightaway to their third straight Outright NBC Title.

JV: Louisville 33, Salem 26

Jessica Hamsher scored a game-high 9 points and Morgan Paulus dropped in 8 to lead the Lady Leopards JV Squad past the Lady Quakers 33-26.

After playing to a 12-12 tie at the half, Louisville opened up the third quarter on a 9-0 run to pull away.  However, Salem would fight back to get within 25-21 with less than five minutes to go in the contest.

The Lady Leps answered by scoring the next 7 points that included a three-pointer by Paulus to give the Lady Leps a double digit 32-21 advantage.  The Quakers scratched and clawed the remainder of the game, but could not overcome the deficit.

Rachel Zeller also scored 6 points and Sydney Bartolet added 5 for the Lady Leps who are now 13-3 overall and 8-1 against NBC foes this season.
