Lady Leps Snubbed Again in State Coaches Poll
No matter how many teams the Louisville Lady Leopards mow down and no matter how many giants they slay, the Ohio Coaches Softball Poll will still overlook them. The 15-1 Leopards, who earned the #1 seed in the Massillon District Tournament this past weekend, were again overlooked in the latest state poll voting. Better yet, despite both Perry and Hoover losing twice this week, they moved up in the poll. Perry fell to Hoover 6-2 and also lost in the opening game of the Loudonville Tournament on Friday. Hoover fell to undefeated Central Crossing 5-4 and Elyria 3-2 this past week as well. Yet North Canton moves from tenth to seventh and Perry moves from tenth to eighth. North Canton has a record of 13-3 and Perry a record of 9-5, but our 15-1 Lady Leps (who are 3-0 against these two teams) remain unseen.
What did the Lady Leps do this week? They played four straight days, mercying Minerva 11-0, Marlington 11-1, and pulverizing Akron Hoban 26-3. All three of those games they won in five innings, while they also defeated Federal League foe Canton McKinley 9-1 on a windy and rainy day.
