Lady Leps Leash Bulldogs 9-1, Move to 6-0 Against the Federal League

SOFTBALL

Louisville 9, McKinley 1

There was no fancy comeback, no long ball, but on a day where the weatherman called for thunderstorms, the Leopards hailed their sixth straight victory over a Federal League opponent.  Louisville defeated Canton McKinley 9-1 and starting pitcher Gianna Falcone won her fourth game of the year.  She only allowed a single run when the Bulldogs’ Kim Hetrick hit an RBI single, but that barely made a dent in the Louisville deficit.  Brittany Flanigan and Desi Givens each hit two singles to lead the Leopard offense that pounded out nine runs on just eight hits.  Flanigan also pitched a shutout in the final three innings of the game to put the Bulldogs away.
