Lady Leps Destroy Dukes 74-47, Jones & Libertore Score 18 Each

The Lady Leopards jumped out to a 23-4 late in the first quarter and never looked back in route to a 74-47 beating of the Marlington Lady Dukes Saturday afternoon. Brianna Libertore and Alyssa Jones each poured in 18, while Mackenzie Storlie dropped in 14 in the victory.
Lady Leps Huddle as one at Marlington
The Lady Leopards roared out of the gate to take a commanding lead over the Dukes. After battling to a 5-4 advantage, Louisville went on an 18-0 run. Six different Lady Leps scored and the Dukes were held off the scoreboard for over five minutes during the onslaught.
The Dukes responded with back-to-back threes from Mackenzie Bitzel and Sierra Gallina to cut the lead to 25-10. But, Louisville’s defensive provided fast break opportunities on offense, and they scored the next 8 points. Lauren Bricker, Clara Lemmon, Jones, and Storlie each had steals during the run. Even when Storlie missed a free throw, she got her own rebound and banked it home. The ball was bouncing the right way for Louisville, while shots rimmed out for Marlington all game long. The Leopards galloped into the locker room with a 43-20 lead.
Marlington opened the second half with a 7-2 run, but Louisville outscored the Dukes 12-7 the rest of the period to maintain their 23-point lead heading into the final quarter.
Louisville cruised on the backs of Jones and Libertore who combined for 10 of the Leopards 17 points in the fourth quarter. Molly Brown also canned her second three-pointer of the contest, to give her 8 for the game. For the Dukes, Jessica Gorman scored 7 of her team-high 16 points in the final frame, but it barely made a dent in Louisville’s lead. The Lady Leps pulled their starters with a little over two minutes remaining and rolled to a 74-47 victory.

Louisville 59, Marlington 24
The Lady Leps JV squad clobbered the Dukes 59-24. The Lady Leps dominated from start to finish and put the nail in the coffin with a 19-2 advantage in the final period. Jordan Monnot led Louisville with 13 points and 7 rebounds, while Amber Minster, Chandler Rice, and Sarah Wyss each added 8 points. Marlington was led by Sierra Mayle’s game-high 14 points.
